Programmes

Our grant programmes exist to support charitable activities that have particular results, and that contribute to our aims: tackling disadvantage and improving quality of life in North East England and Cumbria.

The Foundation’s grant-making approach now focuses on sustainability. Criteria to support sustainability and consolidation apply to all our grant programmes in addition to their individual criteria.

Click here for more information on these criteria.

Each programme focuses on outcomes – changes or results – that we are interested in. Within the programmes there are approaches that we think work best to bring about those changes. Because our programmes work in this way, you should read all our guidance before applying, rather than looking to see if we have a category that names your group.

Please choose the programme whose description best fits the intended results of your work. Do not tick more than one box on the application form.

Most importantly please do not apply if your plan does not really fit anywhere within our programmes.
