Yorkshire and Humber

The Yorkshire and Humber Regional Forum recognises the importance of research on the voluntary and community sector. We work to influence policy and inform debate about the sector at all levels. So along with commissioning our own research, the Forum also works closely with recognised leaders in research into the sector to ensure it reflects and represents the unique nature of our region.

The Regional Forum is co-ordinating regional involvement in the Northern Rock Foundation’s Third Sector Trends Survey.  The work is resourced through the Capacitybuilders Consortia Development Grant and is overseen by SubNet, the VCS infrastructure steering group, which has appointed a dedicated research team.

This quantitative study will be used to measure the number and identity of third sector organisations (TSOs) in the Yorkshire and Humber.  The contributions from the sub-regional consortia are particularly directed at the validation of data and the scaling up of information about the third sector at a sub-regional level.
