Pete Barrett – Programme Officer

Pete supports the Foundation’s work in two of its grant programmes: Enabling Independence and Choice and Having a Home. He assesses grants and helps grant recipients monitor and evaluate their work ensuring useful learning is captured and shared.

Pete has 16 years experience in the voluntary sector in North East England and Cumbria. He has worked with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds in areas of mental health, criminal justice, young people in care, refugees and asylum seekers. He has also worked internationally as a project supervisor on developmental youth programmes for Voluntary Service Overseas.

Pete returned to the Foundation in February 2010 after working in the private sector as a Regional Service Manager for a residential care organization offering therapeutic interventions for young people in crisis. Pete has a Post Graduate Certificate in Grant Making Management.
