Karl is NCVO’s Head of Research. His research interests include mapping the changing third sector economy and the relationship between new technologies and voluntary action. He is a trustee of the Association for Research in the Voluntary and Community Sector and an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Charity Effectiveness, Cass Business School in London. Karl brings considerable expertise in mapping the voluntary and community sector through directing the current market-leader research project in this area – the NCVO Almanac. He also offers substantive experience of managing externally funded projects on a large scale. For the Study, Karl leads on the overall strategy in relation to methods, analysis and reporting, in effect acting as an internal consultant.
