Team biographies
Professor Fred Robinson
Fred is a professorial fellow at St Chad's College, Durham University. For the past 30 years, he has explored economic and social change in the North East and the role and impacts of public policy. He has conducted evaluations of a wide range of regeneration programmes and has undertaken critical assessments of structures and processes of governance in the region. Recent work includes:
- a scoping study for the development of a third sector research centre, for OTS (2007);
- research on the North East under New Labour 1997-2007;
- a study of regeneration of brownfield sites and perceptions of health risks;
- research to establish needs in County Durham and Darlington and identify priorities for the County Durham Foundation.
Fred will take a leading role in the design of qualitative fieldwork, liaison with third sector organisations and will also play a key role in completing reports and speaking at dissemination events.
