Dementia Friendly Communities

The North East Dementia Alliance is helping communities in the North East to become dementia friendly.  The North East Strategic Health Authority made a total of £63,000 (Innovation Money) available to aid the development of dementia friendly community (DFC) projects in the North East. Details of these projects are listed below.

Northern Rock Foundation supported the development of this grants programme and will continue to work with the projects to network with each other and to share best practice.

Joining the Dots
‘Joining the Dots’ were two half-day conferences held on the 3rd and 4th December 2012. They brought together people from across the North East to discuss how we develop dementia friendly communities right across our region.Visit the presentations page of our website to download a summary of the main discussions and presentations that took place.

Dementia Friendly Communities Forum

The forum is a space for people from the North East and Cumbria who are developing dementia friendly communities to network and share best practice. If you would like to join please email the Foundation.
