Foundation grant update, October 2013
In October 2013, Foundation Trustees approved grants totalling £1,475,818 to help tackle disadvantage in the North East and Cumbria. In Cumbria, Carlisle and Eden Mind was awarded £98,190 over three years to employ a project worker to develop a range of services for people with mental health problems in Carlisle. A grant of £24,750 was awarded to help establish Women’s Community Matters in Barrow in Furness. The organisation aims to improve the lives of women with multiple and complex needs through a one-stop shop centre and outreach services. It particularly focusses on supporting women offenders and women who misuse drugs and alcohol, as well as those who have been victims of abuse.
