Foundation grant update

In May & July 2012 Foundation Trustees approved grants totalling £2.239 million to help tackle disadvantage in the North East and Cumbria. Middlesbrough First was awarded a grant of £114,236 over three years to cover the core costs of the organisation. Middlesbrough First provides advocacy and training to people with learning disabilities. Age UK Newcastle will receive a one year grant of £26,976 to develop their befriending service for older people and pilot a new telephone neighbours scheme.
