Foundation awards grants of over £1 million
In December 2011 the Trustees approved grants totalling £1.175 million to help tackle disadvantage in the North East and Cumbria. Carlisle Youth Zone was awarded £60,000 to provide one-to-one monitoring to young people who are involved in the criminal justice system. Tin Arts received £62,500 for the core costs of the Flex Dance Company, a dance company of learning disabled dancers in Durham.
